The MacKinnon & Bowes Annual Host the Students Day
Every year the Funeral Service Education Students from both College Boreal and Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology spend a day at MacKinnon & Bowes participating in practical learning exercises and learning about he specialized nature of what MacKinnon & Bowes does.
Representatives of the Canadian Government - Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade spending a day at MacKinnon & Bowes being educated on some of the dynamics associated with International Repatriation requirements.
Industry representatives at the MacKinnon & Bowes annual evening seminar on Lifting techniques taught by EMT's at the Toronto Ambulance Service. Attendees learn the safe practices of lifting and maneuvering equipment to safely do their job.
Precautions and Handling Infectious Disease Cases Seminar
Dr. Allison McGeer of the Mt. Sinai Hospital (Toronto) lead a seminar for funeral service workers that handle deceased persons that have died with or from infectious disease. Also presenting in the seminar was Christine Moore, M.L.T., BSc. and Wayne Lee, Infection Control Practitioners at Mount Sinai Hospital.

MacKinnon & Bowes sponsoring Bob Mayer in 2015 to come to Canada for a presentation to Ontario industry representatives, embalmers, and funeral service students from Humber College. Mr. Mayer is the author of the text book utilized by Funeral Service Students throughout North America.

The MacKinnon & Bowes Family. Every year the MacKinnon & Bowes family gets together to celebrate another year of professional service to our industry and take a group photo. Each year the photo seems to get larger. For the past 6 years, at least $2,000.00 per year is raised for Bloorview MacMillan Childrens Rehabilitation Hospital at this event.
