MacKinnon and Bowes is proud to be recipients of many awards and commendations. Many of our staff members are proud recipients of awards not related specifically to funeral service. Below is a list of honors and awards.

Ontario Funeral Service Association's Activist Award
The 2017 Ontario Funeral Service Association's Activist Award was presented to Allan Cole in Huntsville in October. The Association Activist Award recognizes outstanding contributions to OFSA by association volunteers. 2017. Allan Cole - Owner/Manager.
Funeral Service Association of Canada Award of Merit
Presented to Allan Cole for Outstanding Contributions for the Enhancement of the Canadian Funeral Profession Throughout a Distinguished Career in Funeral Service, Presented June 6, 2013 at London, Ontario, Canada. This special honour is awarded annually to a member of the Funeral Service Association of Canada for contributions made by an individual over the span of their career. This is the highest honour and recognition that can be bestowed upon someone in Funeral Service in Canada each year.
Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Certificate of Recognition
This Certificate presented to MacKinnon & Bowes on 6 September 2014 to mark the enduring relationship between MacKinnon & Bowes and the PPCLI and to commemorate 100 years of service to Canada by the PPCLI. Presented by Lieutenant General R.R. Crabbe, Colonel of the Regiment to Jane Titcombe at the Royal Canadian Military Institute.
Canadian Army Commendation
Presented by Lieutenant-General Andrew Leslie in 2008. Presented to MacKinnon & Bowes Limited "in recognition of the exemplary professionalism demonstrated by all members of MacKinnon & Bowes in providing mortuary services to Land Force Command for all our fallen soldiers from Task Force Afghanistan. The expertise and compassion that so distinguishes MacKinnon & Bowes have been both a tremendous source of comfort to our grieving families".
Distinguished Service Medallion
Presented in 2007 to Luc Gingras - Canada's Chief of the Defense Staff. "Mr. Gingras is awarded the Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service for the many years of professional, dedicated, and selfless service he has rendered to supporting Canadian Forces operations throughout the world". This is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon a Civilian by the Canadian Military and is a special recognition reserved for very special circumstances.
Distinguished Service Medallion
Presented in 2007 to Jane Titcombe - Canada's Chief of the Defense Staff - General Rick Hillier. "As the MacKinnon & Bowes manager responsible for orchestrating travel, comfort, accommodations and support for grieving families, she has demonstrated the utmost professionalism, compassion, and dedication". This is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon a Civilian by the Canadian Military and is a special recognition reserved for very special circumstances.
Ontario Funeral Service Association Cornerstone Award
Presented in 2004 to Allan Cole at Honey Harbour Ontario - "Presented to a member that has demonstrated a passion for the pursuit of service excellence". "Recipients of this award are the authors of positive change within the funeral profession. These changes have benefited the profession and enhanced the quality of service provided to Ontario families".
