|Janet Roy, Forensic Genealogy Coordinator|
Janet Roy, our Forensic Genealogy Coordinator, has worked with MacKinnon and Bowes since 2009. A Genealogist, from Thunder Bay, Ontario, who holds a Paleo DNA Training Certificate, through Lakehead University, she is part of our Forensics Team.
Janet assists the Directorate of History and Heritage, Canadian National Defence with the identification of soldiers, who have been recovered from past conflicts.
Her task is to find specific living relatives for DNA testing. She Past Chairperson for the Ontario Genealogy Society, Thunder Bay District, Branch. Janet and her husband Stan have two sons and are avid travelers. They volunteer with www.lifewater.ca, providing safe drinking water for parts of Africa and Haiti as well as www.memoministry.org/ medical equipment modernization opportunity to Cuba and El Salvador as well as their church, New Life Christian Fellowship.
|Greg Olson, Forensic Anthropologist|
Greg Olson has been affiliated with MacKinnon & Bowes in a variety of capacities since 2006. Greg has a Master’s Degree in Forensic and Biological Anthropology, from Mercyhurst College, Erie, Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a minor in Archaeology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo and various Post-Degree courses in Human Remains Recovery, Osteology, Fragmentary Osteology, Forensic Archaeology, Mass Disaster Recovery, along with Fire Chemistry and Human Remains Recovery. Greg has worked Office of the Fire Marshal in Ontario since 2005 and is a former Police Officer serving in the York Regional Police Service, Haldimand-Norfolk Regional Police, and the Toronto Police Service in Ontario. Greg did serve in the Canadian Forces and was on a Canadian naval destroyer as an underwater weaponsman.
